Accountability for materials

Materials are controlled within an organisation by putting procedures and measures in place that record which high-risk biological agents are present and where they are located. These procedures include drawing up an inventory of high-risk materials along with their storage, use, protection and destruction. Coding of materials is a security method that prevents unauthorised persons from identifying which high-risk materials are stored where.
