The Biosecurity Office regularly attends meetings abroad with the aim of sharing knowledge, acquiring knowledge and networking. For example, we gave a presentation during the Conference of the Biological Weapons Convention and we discussed dual-use risks during an EBSA webinar. Biological Weapons Convention
The Biosecurity Office was digitally present as an expert for the Dutch delegation during the Meeting of Experts of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) in Geneva. The meeting discussed, among other things, the establishment of a science committee within the BWC to better support diplomats. During the plenary meeting in which new developments in science and technology were discussed, the Biosecurity Office presented the Dual-Use Quickscan. EBSA Thursday – BioEthics and Dual-Use in relation to BioRisk
On September 16, the Biosecurity Office gave a presentation during the webinar of the European Biosafety Association (EBSA) about dual-use in relation to biorisk. dr. Takis Vidalis previously provided a general overview of bioethics and ethical dilemmas in science.
