We recently published the article Complementarity of International Instruments in the Field of Biosecurity in Frontiers in Public Health.
The article describes international biosecurity legislation from both the public health domain and the non-proliferation domain and describes in detail how they complement each other. We show what else a country needs to have in place to comply with international biosecurity legislation, once the International Health Regulations are fully implemented. In addition, the article explains how non-binding biosecurity documents (such as guidelines, manuals, etc.) can support the implementation of international biosecurity legislation.
