On Wednesday 14 May 2025, Bureau Biosecurity will be organising the first international biosecurity symposium. Internationally renowned speakers will talk about biosecurity and dual-use.

As in previous years, the Biosecurity Knowledge Day attracted many enthusiastic participants this year. The Knowledge Day focused a lot on Artificial Intelligence.

In the spring, two publications were published that are important for biosecurity. The WHO published Laboratory biosecurity guidance.

The Biosecurity Office regularly attends meetings abroad with the aim of sharing knowledge, acquiring knowledge and networking.

On Thursday April 22, the Biosecurity Office launched a new tool, the Dual-Use Quickscan (Dutch version).

During the second webinar on April 22, 2021, the Biosecurity Office suggested using the internationally recognized name Biorisk Management Advisor (BMA) instead of Biorisk Professional.
